New Toy!

Cayden has some new toys over the weekend and this includes a set of playskool clipo toy and a mini aeroplane that comes with a foam propeller and blinking lights! These purchases were not planned but came along when we were short of $20 to qualify for Takashimaya carpark redemption. Ha! Cayden was pretty cooperative during the 3 hour outing yesterday. We've concluded that Cayden didn't like stuff toys but he enjoy interactive toys which he could control the various buttons. :) The final decision in getting a blinking aeroplane was really last minute. Cayden had originally set his eyes on Thomas the Train helicopter but when he saw the blink lights, he took the mini aeroplane and passed me the helicopter instead. We saved nearly 40% ($4.50) by getting a non-branded toy for Cayden!

Cayden seems to be really fascinated with what comes out of the box of clipo. Uncle Sam managed to fix up a spaceman which also spun off another of a private moment (or game) between Uncle Sam and Cayden. Uncle Sam taught Cayden to act like a spaceman by sticking their hands out like the clipo toy. Cayden is very tickled by the action. :)

At Giant Supermarket

Uncle Sam and I brought Cayden to IMM Giant Supermarket yesterday. He was pretty naughty! Refused to put on his windbreaker we brought along and started wailing whenever we attempted to help on with the jacket. He received scolding from Uncle Sam and he went really quiet for the initial ten minutes at IMM. Anyway, we started the visit with a brief stop at Old Chang Kee counter as Uncle Sam was hungry. We bought Cayden a stick of fishball and he loved it! He finished two big fishballs within half an hour and finished up the final fishball at home with his dinner. WOAH!

During our one hour stay at Giant Supermarket, Cayden was helpful. He helped us took three package of Nissin instant cup noodles and remained really quiet and sweet. He didn't scream or cry throughout the trip unlike other children. He only kept calling out to me (Ah Yi Ah!) since Uncle Sam's body covered his view and he couldn't see me through Uncle Sam. :) He's such a cheeky fellow!

During the trip, he was able to articulate and express himself with the things he saw. When he saw the price tags with star signs, he pointed to the start and started gripping and loosening up his hands as if he was singing to the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song! Then we stopped by in front of a shelf of eggs, he went "egg" non-stop. When we passed by the gardening section, he saw the variety of flower and vegetable seeds and he went "flower". Finally, we decided to show him the real fish. He wasn't happy seated in the trolley and requested to be brought down and when his request was acceded he went around walking happily. :) He only wanted to return to trolley when we pointed him the fishes. He was fascinated to see the different types of fishes and went "fish" multiple times. He also clasped his hands together and moved it side ways to tell us he saw fishes.

In short, he was not exactly happy sitting on the trolley and wanted to walk like an adult when we were at the poultry section.

Cayden couldn't see what's in the fridge and Uncle Sam carried him to check out the fridge.

FISHES!!! Some are as big as him!

Wild Animals

Cayden turns 18 months today! Sadly, he hasn't been to the zoo but I was glad the books he read with pictures of wild animals helped him understand the wonders of nature. Aunt Yangming and Mummy also helped him understand the behaviours of wild animals too. Check out the following video... :)

I Love Swimming!

Cayden has been into swimming lately... He loves soaking in water so much that each time he takes a dip into the pool, he'll end up a dried prune when he gets out! Cayden sort of got everyone's attention when he emerged into the pool with his ultimate float with a cover over his head! The week before, another boy spotted Cayden's float and was tempted to try. We kindly loaned it to that boy who had great time swimming in it! :)

In the first video, Cayden ended up slipping into the pool as he tried to break free from Grandpa's grip! Good thing grandpa was there to grab hold of little Cayden! Phew... The second video is on how Aunty Yangming and I tried to introduce Cayden to the various facilities in the baby pool. He was not too inclined to move towards the center of the pool where the sprinkler and slide were until we brought him over. He was happy moving around the pool though he was struggling to keep himself awake from his usual nap time.

Olympic 080808!

Grandpops, Mummy, Aunty Yangming and Baby Cayden came by on Friday evening to chill out over the weekend. We spent the evening watching the opening of the 2008 Olympic. The entire family was stunned by the performances put up by the Chinese over TV as well as Cayden's ability to relate and participate in the event! At least Uncle Sam and I didn't know that Cayden knew Kung Fu! Taiji to be precise. This specific skill was built on visually as Cayden observed how Grandpa practice his Taiji strokes each morning. AMAZING!
