The weekend beginning 30 June, we had Cayden bunking in with Uncle Sam and I. Oh boy! He's such a grown up now and I can no longer carry him and adjust his sleeping position where 3 of us can rest comfortably on the king size bed.
We brought Cayden out for some shopping on that Saturday (29 Jun) and stopped by Suntec City. In an effort to boost crowd, there was a candy floss station giving out free candy floss to the shopping crowd. How could we give that amiss?! ^_^
And we headed towards Uniqlo and H&M. Uncle Sam and I each bought a pair of shades from Uniqlo and that costs $9.90 per pair. What a steal and Cayden was sad that he was unable to get a pair for himself... and so I brought him over to H&M and bought him this...
We had dinner at Sushi Express and Cayden enjoyed himself to the max!
Close to 7 pm, we moved over to the floating platform in hope to catch 2013 NDP rehearsal and we were lucky!
The helicopters carrying the Singapore flag flew past shortly... WOW! I was so proud to see the flag flying high in the sky. I love my country!
And we were in for a treat from the Singapore Air Force! Check out the formation by the fighter planes!!!
After the first round of air show, the NDP schedule was planned in such away for the President to inspect the platoon of soldiers. As we all know, the inspection is always accompanied by the firing of 21 cannonballs. It was pretty scary to be so close to the firing squad! I love how the smoke forms up in the sky.... check out the O.
We witnessed 2 squads firing the cannon at the same time and the pictures are taken in a series of burst shots. This is a rehearsal where they are supposed to train to fire in sequence. It is only human errs... :)
Cayden salutes to the soldiers who made the rehearsals possible. :)
And... before we knew it, another squad of airplanes flew past!
And they did a different formation for this year... :)
Lovely! The final plane flew high up into the sky....
Isn't the Singapore CBD landscape beautiful?
Merlion is pretty too!
And... while we thought it's time to move off, we saw the platoons of soldiers from the different units marching off. These soldiers are looking so smart and sharp!
We headed home to retire... I made Cayden put on his shades for some pictures and he did so while playing with his lego toys. :)
